This journal talks about two people who are in a competion to depict an 800 year old scene using technology of today. Which had me thinking maybe there is contemporary art happening today and schools are teaching kids art. They are just teaching them how to do art like Theresa and Clay here, with the computer. Is that really art though?
I think art is more about emotion and computers have a way of making everything more logical and lifeless. So when I said I think Art classes in schools should make contemporary art part of the cirriculum i meant the hands on artists such as painters, sculptures, drawers, etc. Kids acknowledge the technoligical artists almost everyday of there lives, whether it be movies, games, or just advertisements. Giving them the knowledge of art beyond technology is what I am aiming for schools to attain.
