This article shows that the best art to be taught is the one that most closely relates to the audience it is being taught to. So which art corresponds best with teens of today, art that was created before these teens were born or art of today? I would say art of today, art has evolved over time to better suit what age it is being created in. Not to say schools should not teach modern art to teens but contemporary art should be added into the curriculum as well.

Finally! I wish they would include contemporary art because modern art actually doesn't really interest me. There seems to be a lot more variety in contemporary art and I enjoy looking at it. People are doing things that are out of the ordinary which is really needed, because like you said, many of ideas are already out there.
